5 times the charm?

I am so lucky that this week I have the opportunity to teach aerobics 5 times! Yesterday, I subbed at MVAC for Victor, who normally teaches Latin Impact. Since no one else there teaches that, my manager decided to put Hip Hop in there instead. So, I got to teach HHH last night to a group who originally thought they were going to be Latin Impacting. It went really well. If I do say so myself, I really did look the part and had a great time!

This morning, I taught at church. I did 30 minutes of Turbo 101, and 25 minutes (or so) of HHH. Again, a great time. I got a lot of positive feedback about my teaching and my workout, so that's a plus!

Then of course, I get to teach tonight and twice on Thursday at the gym. Throw a couple of Spin classes on top of that and I've got a great workout week!

Week in Review

This week has been a productive one so far with my workouts. Sunday was a well deserved day off. After that 10 miler, I needed a rest. Monday I was back on the TM doing a short run. 3 miles at 6.0 pace. The last lap (1/4 mile) I picked up the pace to 7.5. I find that I always like ending a run with a sprint.
Today is Tuesday. I went to church aerobics this morning and taught Round 29. It is such a fun round, but it's such a challenge to teach without mirrors since that's what I'm so used to. Maybe I need to try and face my class during TK on the easy parts. That way I'll get used to not always facing the mirror to teach.
Tonight I'm off to MVAC to teach Round 29 again. This morning was a good practice for teaching that round, since it is new for my class. I just hope the microphone is working again. It's so hard to teach a new round while I'm trying to yell over the music. I'll make it work, whatever I have to do.
Wednesday will be 5 miles, Thursday will be a 3 miler with speedwork, as well as teaching TK at MVAC. Friday is a rest day (hallelujah!), and Saturday will be a long run with 7. Challenging, but achievable!

4 miles down...

Alright, yesterday was a day spent at Disneyland, so we didn't eat super great. Mostly PBJ's, but also a Mickey Mouse cookie, a few bites of Brandon's oatmeal raisin cookie (which by the way, Disneyland has the best oatmeal cookies I've ever eaten in my whole life!! Seriously!), popcorn, Coke....obviously not great. It's a good thing that we walked so much. Does that count for something? Today is a new start and kind of the beginning of the journey Heidi and I are taking together. This morning I've eaten half of a banana, I've run 4 miles, and now I'm getting ready for a mid-morning snack. Brunch, I guess. Anyway, I'll be teaching TK tonight, and then this week I really have to run more. I'm slowly phasing church aerobics out since it's totally not enjoyable right now. Here's to a good kick start to losing weight and eating healthy! Just think lifestyle change, lifestyle change, lifestyle change....I've got the exercising part down, it's just up to the eating part!

3 Turbo's, 2 Days

I've been a busy Turbo'er these past two days. I taught TK yesterday at church in the morning, and then again at MVAC. Jill, my mangager at MVAC, wants to add another TK class on Thursday nights at 5:30. I think that we will probably start that in October. That would be great...two classes of my very own. There was about 18 people in my class last night. The place was packed! I think that's the most that has been there yet. Usually there is about 12-15, but it was great yesterday. I went to 24 this morning and did some team teaching with Kelly. She's been a great mentor. I look forward to auditioning for the 24 manager, once we find out if we're going to be here for a while. Tomorrow I'm going to be back on the treadmill. I've gotta finish Titanic!

Making chocolate cake?

Why is it that things always tend to get in the way of working out? They do for me, at least. Especially when I've put off running on the treadmill all day, thinking I'll do it at the end of the night. Well, I've just spent the last few hours at Heather's house scrapbooking, and now it's 10:30 and I'm about to make a cake for the baby shower I'm helping out with tomorrow! It looks like my priorities are straight, eh? Well, I've already told the girls at church that I won't be going to aerobics tomorrow. I just need a day that I can run first thing in the morning and not have to worry about church aerobics. I think I am slowly phasing it out. It's just one more thing I have to worry about that I'm not enjoying. So there you go...church aerobics, you're being phased!
