This week is the last week of teaching TK before we go to Utah for my breast augmentation surgery. I'm getting really excited, but I'm bummed that I won't be able to teach TK for about 6 weeks. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery so that I can get back into teaching right away.
I want to get certified to teach Spin in June once I'm recovered too. That would be awesome to have one more thing that I can teach, especially if it's something like Spin that I like.

5 times the charm?
I am so lucky that this week I have the opportunity to teach aerobics 5 times! Yesterday, I subbed at MVAC for Victor, who normally teaches Latin Impact. Since no one else there teaches that, my manager decided to put Hip Hop in there instead. So, I got to teach HHH last night to a group who originally thought they were going to be Latin Impacting. It went really well. If I do say so myself, I really did look the part and had a great time!
This morning, I taught at church. I did 30 minutes of Turbo 101, and 25 minutes (or so) of HHH. Again, a great time. I got a lot of positive feedback about my teaching and my workout, so that's a plus!
Then of course, I get to teach tonight and twice on Thursday at the gym. Throw a couple of Spin classes on top of that and I've got a great workout week!

You Spin Me Right Round, Baby, Right Round...
I love Spin. I have started going to as many Spinning classes as I can at the gym and I'm falling seriously in love with it. Lucky for me, so has my husband. I convinced him to get a membership at my gym, and ever since then, we have both been doing the Spin thing. I have decided that after I recover from surgery, I am going to get certified to teach it. I may not have a guaranteed class right away at MVAC, but I might start putting myself out there to teach and sub at other gyms.

My Everest
Since it is Brandon's long work week, we have to do our long run on his day off. That means today since I don't want to be doing a long run on the same day that I have TK (tomorrow).
7 miles was the goal for today. Although yesterday I was thinking I was hot stuff because I had taught TK twice and done spin class, I was TOTALLY regretting that today. I wasn't noticably sore from yesterday, which I thought I would be, but once we started running, my legs were screaming because they were so tired. I cannot tell you how much I wanted to stop during the entire run. I was also doing a little reminiscing about my runs with Ali during our half marathon training.
Amy: "Tell me something to make me want to keep running, Ali."
Ali: "You're doing great, Aim! We're almost halfway done. You can do this."
Let me paint a picture for you about how the run went today.
Me: "Honey, tell me something to make me keep going."
Brandon: "If you stop, you'll have to walk home and I'm going to lock you out of the house."
Hmmmm...
About a half mile further down the road:
Brandon: "If you stop now, that means you're a quitter, and you'll always be a quitter, and you'll never finish a marathon."
So you can imagine the mental beating that I was taking, yet still trying to force myself to take each new step. **Disclaimer** Brandon is in no way, shape, or form a mental abuser. In this case, he was just trying to be funny and make himself laugh. This is a case of a smart aleck husband!
The last half mile of our run was by far the hardest. I can usually get a second wind at the end, especially when the end is in plain sight. But I wanted to stop so badly! Brandon was a few paces ahead of me, and I even walked for about three paces. That was uncomfortable and awkward, so I just kept on running. Luckily, Brandon impressed me in the end.
Brandon: "Come on, you can do it. We're almost there. You're doing great."
When the run was finally over, he gave me a high five and told me, "Good job!" I then went on to tell him that the encouragement that he gave me at the end was what I needed, not the empty, funny-guy threats!
It's going to be a long road ahead during this marathon training if I'm going to put up with my husband on these long runs. It's a good thing that I have the ability to tune him out sometimes. Maybe I should get Ali to record some positive affirmations and put them on the ipod.

Spinning class? Sure!
Not that I didn't have enough fitness packed into my week, I decided to stay after my evening TK class and do an hour long spin class. I haven't done spin for years, and only then it was a couple of times. It was a challenging class that I'm sure I'll be feeling tomorrow. I just found myself looking at the clock the entire time thinking how slow the time was going. I think that after being used to TK, any other class is almost boring. That's alright though. Like I said, it was a good workout that I would love to try and attend more often.
